SIKKIM SUPREME- the taste of Sikkim
Sikkim is a quaint hamlet state of India that was an independent nation not very long ago. Amidst these beautiful hills and valleys, is nestled at a height of 1400 metres above sea level, the only organic food processing unit of the state. Earlier, the company was fondly known as the “Juice factory” by the locals. The Sikkim supreme “juice factory was located in Singtam, a lap of nature and a place close to the gushing streams flowing down from the Himalayas.
The company had established in the year 1956 by the then Chogyal of Sikkim. This he did to motivate the farmers in the local regions to cultivate Mandarin oranges for commercial reasons. Today Sikkim supreme has become one of the top most flagship brands of the state and every household knows and uses these products frequently.
The company has seen really glorious days when they were the primary suppliers of grand companies like the Indian Airlines, Air India, British Airways and Dabur and also supplied goods to CSD Canteens. The ethos of their world class standards goes on to this date.
Over the years, the company has added diverse range of products to their brand. Things like orange squashes and other variety of flavors of squashes is a new addition. Some of the most exclusive products from the brand are the orange marmalade and the mixed fruit jam. The major breakthrough was attained when the company produced and launched products made from the famous Dalle Khursani (cherry pepper) of Sikkim.
Today, the factory produces and has launched over 60 products that are all made with organic ingredients and have been popular for their tastes and flavors over the past years.
In the year 2016, the factory added accolades by achieving an Organic Certification as well as the HACCP standards for quality of production. In the coming times, the factory will move ahead with the process of entering the super food segment that exclusively produces a range of carbonated fruit juices that will create a niche market for the portfolio of its new products.
Almost a 100 families are supported by the families by giving them direct employment opportunities; as well as thousands of farmers by procuring organic fruits and vegetables from them. The old nostalgic flavours of the products of a bygone era are still retained in their products to this date.
To cater to the needs of the discerning and the conscious buyers, an up gradation programme is now under process where the latest state-of-the-art technology and machines are installed.
The factory has basically learned to age well like good wine does. Sikkim supreme is a household brand of the state of Sikkim and has retained its name and quality ever since the factory started. And it is these kinds of brands that are loyal to the customers as well as its employees are what hold the pillar of ethical business systems in today’s date
